Profile & preferences

Your display name, confirmation prompts, and closing your account.

Settings → Profile & Account holds your identity and account preferences: your display name and picture, where account notifications are sent, confirmation prompts, tips & tours, which emails you receive, and closing your account. How the app looks and how your coaches talk to you live on their own tabs.

Your details

Update your display name here; it is how you appear across the app. Your avatar is a monogram generated from your name, so there is nothing to upload. Your email address is shown but cannot be changed in self-service yet.

Notification address

Prefer to receive account notifications somewhere other than the email you sign in with? Set an alternate notification address here. Your sign-in identity stays the same and is shown read-only for reference. When you save a new address we send it a confirmation link — until you click it, notifications keep going to your sign-in email. Change it any time to re-verify, or remove it to go back to your sign-in email.

Confirmations

If you previously ticked “Don’t ask again” on the confirmation before deleting a research-library folder, turn that prompt back on here with “Ask before deleting folders”. Turn it off to delete folders without the extra step.

Tips & tours

Replay any guided walkthrough from here — the getting-started tour, or a page tour like the dashboard or voices. A page tour opens on its own page so it can point at the real controls. Prefer a clean slate? “Reset tips & tours” brings the welcome guide back on all your devices and makes the page tours triggerable again in this browser; it never touches your work or credits.

Moved elsewhere

Three settings used to live on this page and now have a home of their own. Response style — how direct or gentle your coaches sound — is under Settings → Coaching & AI. The colour palette and the dyslexia-friendly font are under Settings → Appearance & Accessibility → Accessibility, and the typewriter sound is under Appearance & Accessibility → Aesthetic. Nothing changed about what they do, and the page links straight through to each one.

Closing your account

You can close your account from this page. It asks you to type your email to confirm and to confirm your identity, cancels any active subscription, signs you out everywhere, and stops the work in your projects from being served or shared.

You have time to change your mind

Closing your account does not destroy it the moment you ask. For 30 days it stays recoverable — sign back in and you can undo the closure yourself. After that it is held for a while longer and can only be brought back by contacting support, and at 120 days it is erased for good. We email you along the way.

  • Export firstbefore you close, download anything you want to keep from a project’s Export tab — documents, and whole Books, as Markdown, Word, PDF, and more.
  • Tell us why (optional)you can pick a reason for leaving and add a note. It helps us improve and never changes how your closure is handled.
  • Need it deleted right away?self-service closure keeps your account recoverable for a while by design. If you need it deleted sooner — including to meet a legal requirement, where recovery becomes impossible once it runs — open a support ticket and we will follow up.

What it costs

Changing your profile and preferences is free.
