Blank Project
A project with no content type and no setup interview — just start writing.
A Blank Project is for writing before you have decided what the writing is. It runs no setup interview and imposes no document structure: you get a blank document and the coaches that apply to all writing. The seeded Scratch Pad is one of these.
The documents it offers
This content type offers one document: the blank document, an empty page with no structure imposed. There is no type to choose when you add one — you just start writing.
The stages a document moves through
Every document moves through the same shape: Ideation, Outline, Draft, Revision, Final edit. After Ideation you can move back and forth freely — jump to whichever stage the work needs.
The coaches that apply
This content type leans on the coaches every content type gets — no extra coaches are recommended by default, though you can switch any coach on from the Coaches tab.
Every content type also gets the coaches that apply to all writing: the select-text Coach for focused feedback on a passage, VoiceCheck and StyleCheck against your voice and style guide, and the free grammar and spelling checks.
What it costs
Choosing a content type is free. The coaching inside each stage spends credits, marked with the sparkle; the deterministic checks — grammar, spelling, readability, citation formatting — run free.
