Your rights in 60 seconds
A plain-language summary to show at signup. It's a friendly overview — the full Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Acceptable Use & AI Policy are what actually govern your account. If anything here differs from those, they win.
✍️ Your work stays yours
You own everything you write and everything the AI helps you create. We don't claim any of it. To run Oghmere, you give us just enough permission to store your work, run it through AI when you ask, and publish or share it only when you tell us to — nothing more.
🚫 We won't sell it or train on it
We don't sell your content, and we never use it to train any AI model — ours or anyone else's.
One exception — the research feature. If you turn on research, the text you type into it is sent to a third-party web-search provider (Tavily) whose terms let them use and train AI on what they receive. This applies only to what you submit to research — it's opt-in, you can turn it off, and it never changes anything else: your manuscripts, coaching, drafting, and everything else stay fully covered by the promise above.

Sharing only happens when you choose it. You control who sees what, and you can turn sharing off anytime.
🤖 About the AI
When you use AI features, your content is sent to trusted AI providers (like Anthropic and Google) to do the work — this may happen in the U.S. AI can be wrong, so give its output a human review before you rely on it. It's a writing coach, not professional advice.
🔒 Your privacy
We collect your account info, the content you create, payment details (through Stripe), and basic usage data — to run the Service, support you, and keep it secure. You can access, correct, or delete your information, or withdraw consent, anytime by contacting our Privacy Officer. We follow BC's privacy law (PIPA) and Canada's PIPEDA.
We also measure how the Service gets used — pages viewed, features opened, whether a prompt was acted on — so we can see what works and what doesn't. Our public website does this with no cookie and no identifier; in the app it's tied to a pseudonymous account id, never your name or email, and never your writing. No ads, no ad networks, no cross-site tracking.
🗄️ Your work stays put
We don't delete your writing on a schedule today, and we don't trim your revision history to save space — your work goes when you say so. Each plan has a limit on projects and storage; if you reach it, nothing is deleted, your account just stops growing until you free up space or move to a bigger plan. Two things to know: if you don't sign in for two years we'll email you at least three times and then close the account, and if we ever do need retention limits we'll tell you well in advance and they'll only apply going forward.
📈 We record how you write — never what you write
Oghmere keeps a private record of how you work: when you write, in what bursts, and how text arrived in a document (typed, pasted, imported). It powers your streaks and stats, and the Provenance tab that shows how each document was built. We never record the words themselves. It's on by default, it's yours — export it or delete it anytime — and you can switch it off for your whole account or for a single project. Turn it off and it stays off.
💳 Credits & payments
Some AI features use Credits. There's a free tier to start. Paid Credits go through Stripe and are non-refundable, except where BC or Canadian consumer law says otherwise.
🧭 Play fair
Don't upload illegal or infringing content, don't misuse the AI, and don't game the Credit system. Full details are in the Acceptable Use & AI Policy.
👤 Age
You must be 13 or older. If you're under the age of majority where you live (19 in BC), you need a parent or guardian's OK.
🍁 Where we stand
Oghmere is run by a British Columbia company. These agreements are governed by BC and Canadian law.
